Hello My Name is Ralph Porter.

This site is an experiment in Entrepreneurship.

It started on September 1, 2001. and will last at least two years. Its intent is to find a way to generate enough capitol to provide a family of three a comfortable living, while offering a community services.

Background on this project began several years ago when I ran a small town computer store. I started my first web sites ThinkerWorks.com, My main business site and cutha.com which at the time stood for Central Utah Web. Due to my lack of financial resources, the small size of the community, and plain mistakes on my part the business did not succeed. I am currently working as a consultant for a major telecommunications company. Since I no longer live in the small central Utah town I have renamed the web site to Calendar Utah. I have also some other public service web sites that I have spent time developing. Currently I run my own Linux based server using DSL services from the local telephone company. Due to conflict of interest rules with my full time employer I do not provide fee based hosting, or design services on my server.

I have spent thousands of dollars on so called web based programs, some better than others, but to this date none have produced enough income to pay for the materials provided, I must admit that the reason for failure is not necessarily the programs fault. I did not spend the time and effort to fully utilize any of them. Some of the material and at least one of the programs will be incorporated into this project.

I have decided it is time to either get with the system and really try, or to get out of the business all together. This project is intended to make that commitment. I will give this project two years to succeed before deciding my final recourse. Several ground rules have been established in this experiment.

  1. A maximum personal contribution of $200 per month will be allocated in start up and ongoing costs to maintain this project. Included in this limit are expenses of running web sites, advertising, consulting, and investments.
  2. 50% of all prophets generated by the project will be reinvested until net earning exceeds $5,000 per month.
  3. An average of ten or more hours per week will be dedicated to this project.
  4. All web editing and design will be completed in house on a learn as you go basis.
  5. My existing non prophet web sites will be incorporated to provide community services. The sites may contain links to revenue producing sites and affiliate offerings, but the dedicated content on these sites will be provide free of charge to all browsers. Sponsorships will be allowed on all sites and sponsors will be given prominate links on the site(s) the sponsor's product and/or website.
  6. ThinkerWorks.com will be the parent site for all my services. I will place service offerings and FREE open source software on this site as I develop tools for use on my other web sites.
  7. Continue to work on the CouponOrder.com project to provide FREE local coupons to area residents and offer products that will help readers save money for everyday purchases. This site will be used to generate revenue as well as provide free services.
  8. This site wish-biz.com will contain offers for business opportunities. I will personally subscribe to all offers listed on this site and will periodically enter personal reviews of each offering. Offers will be mainly affiliate services. An affiliate being another web site containing products and/or services that offer compensation to the owners of each site offering their services. It will include sites that offer products, services and some multi level marketing, and network offers. I will only subscribe with sites that I feel are running an honest business with wholesome products. I will not include any service that I would not personally use. I will try very hard to avoid scams and will not provide any off-taste or immoral sites.
  9. Additional web sites may be added for new products if I deem it advisable.
  10. My experiences will be evaluated monthly listing successes and failures. This will be posted online so others can learn from my experience.
